Be A Rebel

Here we go again! It seems like every time I turn on the news, whether it be on radio or television, someone’s talking about America’s “obesity epidemic”. Some holier than thou health nuts are not only blaming restaurants for how and what they serve, but now they’re also blaming farmers for growing too much food, and the wrong kind of foods! And these pale, skinny nutrition neenies want to ban certain foods altogether.

Well, I for one don’t happen to believe there is a nationwide obesity epidemic. If there are more overweight people than there were in years past, it sure isn’t any farmer’s fault. Besides, I figure if God meant for us to be super thin he wouldn’t have given us big juicy cheeseburgers!

Our culture is currently obsessed with body shape and the need to be thin. Most all the people
in all the states throughout our great nation are falling victim to this cultural obsession.

Please don’t let your opinion, and certainly not anyone else’s opinion… unless it’s mine… about what’s healthy and what’s not, affect how you think about agriculture. If you want, don’t follow the crowd, be a rebel. When I was a young person, you had to do some pretty wild and crazy things to be considered a rebel. Now-a-days all you have to do is eat meat and drink whole
milk.

Let me know what you think. You can always reach me by email by simply going to my web site at farmviewradio.com. That’s it for now. Until next time, always remember, no farms, no food! So long.
